Join special guest Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, Detroit native and part of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s leadership team, for a virtual event that will give you the information you need to turn Michigan blue. The blue wave in Michigan also will mean holding onto Democrat U.S. Senator Gary Peters’ seat, and holding two U.S. House seats – Democrats Elisa Slotkin (CD-8), and Haley Stevens (CD-11). Michigan is a must-win state. In 2016, Democrats lost Michigan by only 10,000 votes. As a winner-take-all state, Michigan sent all 16 of its electoral college votes to Donald Trump. We cannot let that happen again!

Put your texting skills to good use and help restore democracy. Texting has proven to be a highly effective and efficient activist tactic. At times convenient for you, you can reach out to others one-on-one to boost voter turnout. And you’ll build your skills now so you can easily join individual candidates’ campaigns as the election season heats up. People have told us that texting is addictive – and a lot more productive than playing solitaire.
New to texting? Worried about your own privacy? Want to act now? We have your answers. Use one of Together for 2020’s texting action kits to become familiar with online texting tools and apps that don’t reveal your personal phone number or full name. Or, if you prefer, Together for 2020 has a team of experienced texting trainers to help you get started or answer questions along the way. Learn about using an organization’s pre-scripted messages to have one-on-one interactions with voters in this time of COVID-19 in which in-person canvassing is not an option.

Jon Ossoff for Georgia
Georgia is on our mind. Voting delays, problems with voter IDs, inadequately trained poll workers, closed polling places in minority neighborhoods: last week’s primary was chaos. We need to be ready for November.
Democrat Jon Ossoff emerged as the clear primary winner, avoiding a runoff despite fierce competition from other Democrats. Ossoff told his supporters, “The President of the United States and his allies in Congress are leading this country down a dark path. We can no longer go down a path of racism, of authoritarianism, of corruption. We are better than this, and Georgia is better than this.”
Ossoff can give hope to Georgians and break Mitch McConnell’s stranglehold on the Senate, but only if he has our help. In November, Ossoff will face Republican incumbent David Perdue, former CEO of Reebok, Dollar General, and Pillowtex, and a vocal opponent of the Affordable Care Act and sensible gun control.
