EVENT TO DIVE INTO

Meet Kansas Senate Candidate Barbara Bollier and Stacey Abrams

Stacey Abrams knows that Barbara Bollier is a rocket ready to launch the Senate into the blue. That’s why Abrams is actively backing Bollier in her bid for an open U.S. Senate seat in Kansas. From your own home, you can meet these two dynamic women LIVE in Bollier’s living room in a virtual fundraising event that will inspire you.

A former medical doctor and Kansas state legislator, Dr. Bollier is a rising star in the Democratic Party. Dropping her Republican affiliation in 2018, she joined the Democrats because the party represents her values – including making healthcare affordable to all and fully funding K-12 schools. Abrams needs no introduction. The almost-governor of Georgia is tirelessly working to expand voting access, promote viable progressive candidates, and tackle issues at every level.

As unlikely as it may seem, Kansas is in play this election. Dr. Bollier is polling even with every Republican running for this open Senate seat. But she needs our help to pull ahead. Find out what you can do to help her at the July 8 event.

MAKE WAVES

Your Facebook Social Media Savvy Can Mean More

Light up the political sky this Fourth of July week and beyond. Use Facebook to put your political passion to work effectively.

Social media needs to be part of our strategy to dump Trump, flip the Senate, and hold on to the House. A total of 72% of Americans use social media, and Facebook has twice as many users than the next most-popular social media platform. But posting can be so much more than just a way to vent frustrations. We can use Facebook to get the word out about amazing opportunities for reaching voters. Not sure about how to do it? Together for 2020 is here to help.

Our Social Media Kit clearly outlines techniques for inspiring others to take action and ways to bump your posts to the top of feeds. The kit even has links to free graphics that you can use. It’s easy; it’s fun; it’s convenient; it’s so much more productive than sharing funny cat videos. Post for change!

LIFT ALL BOATS

Turning Georgia Blue with U.S. Senate Candidate Warnock

Flipping the Senate is the patriotic thing to do. The Rev. Raphael Warnock, senior pastor at Georgia’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, is a candidate poised to make that happen.

In the past two decades, Warnock has led voter registration drives, pushed to expand Medicaid, campaigned against capital punishment, and hosted a climate change summit with Al Gore. Warnock is endorsed by Stacey Abrams.

Georgia’s election is unique. On Nov. 3, the state is holding both its normal election and a special election for the Senate seat vacated by Johnny Isakson and now held by the infamous Kelly Loeffler. The November ballot includes multiple candidates from each party. The top candidate must receive more than 50% of the vote or the top two finishers will face each other in a runoff election on Jan. 5, 2021.

Democrats view Warnock as a unifying force who can revitalize the party’s base and appeal to moderate voters.
