Take Action Wisconsin

WI-03 (Van Orden - R)

The significance of Democrat Susan Crawford’s election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court this spring was twofold: a much needed win to preserve judicial autonomy and a demonstration that money cannot buy elections if democracy supporters organize and vote. It’s a good sign for Wisconsin politics.

Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District is rated a Tossup. Trump-endorsed two-term incumbent Republican Derrick VanOrden has been a strong supporter of the GOP’s Big Ugly Bill, now the Big Ugly Law, which has slashed funding for healthcare and other important services. Like other Republican congressmen, he has shunned in-person town halls and has only held phone-in meetings with constituents. Democrat Rebecca Cooke has already announced she is challenging Orden again. Cooke lost her bid in 2024 by less than 3 points.
