All In for NC monthly meeting – VA Lessons!
All In for North Carolina has been inspired and impressed by eight NC organizations with which we’ve met this spring. They helped us understand the landscape and shared some ideas for actions we might take to help in their efforts to take back North Carolina, laying the groundwork to win the open, Republican-held US Senate seat up in 2022.
On Nov. 22, a national Sister District staff member will analyze the VA elections for us, and a NC analyst will report on what happened in key NC municipal elections Nov. 2. We’ll also get reports on our ongoing projects, including our upcoming Dec. 2 “New Roots – the Next Generation of NC Organizing” fundraiser for three great NC groups.
We are starting with three projects:
- Helping County to County (C2C) and Neighbors on Call (NoC) to defend incumbent state legislative Democrats who won by narrow margins in 2020 by holding phone banks to connect those officials more closely with their constituents.
- Helping NC Asian Americans Together (NCAAT) to re-register over 6,000 Asian-Americans who were recently purged from the voter rolls, by phone banking and (led by our partner Activate America) writing letters to them.
- Beginning our own regular phone bank, the Sunday night Picnic Table, to call for whatever projects are most urgent — including expanding our volunteer base.
