The Bay Area Coalition and Swing Left San Francisco are partnering with the Northeast Arizona Native Democrats to call Navajo, Hopi, and Apache voters to update them on how they can help get their family and community registered, and other hot topics like their new voting districts. Native voters in Arizona helped deliver Arizona for President Biden in 2020, and no other groups are calling on Native lands.

This is a special program to help develop callers with the cultural competency and knowledge to speak authentically and respectfully with matriarchs who can encourage their families and communities to vote.

We are so lucky to have Jaynie Parrish, Executive Director of the Northeast Arizona Native Democrats, will be leading cultural competency training to ensure you are able to engage in these calls effectively. This first event will consist primarily of cultural competency and script training to prepare you to speak with members of the Native community in Arizona. After you attend this event, we’ll ask you to come make calls on Thursday evenings with the NE AZ Native Dems or with the Bay Area Coalition on Saturday mornings to reach these important voters.

Why are these calls so important? Northeast Arizona tribal voters can defend Mark Kelly’s Senate seat (and our National Senate majority), and flip statewide offices – including the Governor – this fall! Help us make sure Native Democrats have all the information they need to register for mail-in voting (AEVL), triple their votes, and support Democrats up and down the ballot this fall. The work you do now to empower Native voters will last beyond the next election, and build political power for Native communities.
